Student Scholarships

Each year our Post gives a scholarship to a deserving an ROTC student at Elkins High School. We are proud veterans of the Post to be able to accomplish this activity. We interview various candidates to choose the one we feel best deserves the scholarship.

This year ( 2014 ) and this month ( April ), members of our Post interviewed five Air Force ROTC students at Elkins High School to receive a scholarship. More info will follow….

“The 2014 William “Tony” Workman Post 294 scholarship was awarded to Laura Sanchez of Elkins High School. The scholarship award, which is normally $750.00, was raised to $1,138.00 by additional donations from Post members. This was done because of special circumstances associated with the daily challenges Laura is facing in her life and her ability to overcome those challenges and succeed as well as excel in her school activities at Elkins.

For future scholarships, we encourage all who can to donate to our Post’s scholarship fund. Any monies donated to the fund will only be used for scholarships. The Post members would like to be able to provide more scholarships to the deserving students in our area and with help from the local citizenry we can accomplish that goal.”
